There are many cultivars of Buffalo grass. One of the main soft leaf cultivars that we grow and supply is known as ‘Sir Walter’ (Winter Active, Low Thatch, Environmentally Friendly). It has superior colour retention and fungus resistance. 

This variety of Soft Leaf Buffalo has a broad and long coarse leaf. It is good in high traffic as it is a very fast grower. It will loose its colour and turn purple in winter. 

Couch is a dark and very densed lawn with a small leaf with very few seedheads. Will discolour if temperature drops below 3 degrees Celsius. Has a good tolerance to wear and tear and needs a minimum of 4 - 5 hours of sunlight per day. 

The Kikuyu variety of lawn has a vigorous growth. Its complexion is made up of a broad coarse leaf and is of a broad runner style. Kikuyu will not tolerate shade or excessive dampness.
