Buchanan Turf Supplies has been operating in the Hunter Valley for 25 years. Originally located at Buchanan Via East Maitland, but for the past 16 years at 133 Flat Road, Bolwarra, on the rich flood plain of the Hunter River.

We cultivate a wide range of turf grasses on our 100-acre property. The turf is irrigated, fertilised and manicured throughout the year. As well, new varieties are being developed and trialed (eg. Zoysia) to offer a better range of grasses in the future.

There are many cultivars of Soft Leaf Buffalo grass. One of the main soft leaf cultivars that we grow and supply is known as ‘Sir Walter’ (Winter Active, Low Thatch, Environmentally Friendly). It has superior colour retention and fungus resistance compared with other varieties that are commercially available.

Preparation: Before laying your lawn you should ensure that your soil base is approximately 1in.(2.5cm.) below surrounding mowing strips and drive-ways.
